Technology has brought the banks to your hands through facilities like mobile banking and internet banking. Now you can send money from mobile and you can know bank balance. In order to make mobile banking easier, the Indian government has introduced a new facility called USSD Banking. This banking facility can be used by dialing * 99 # in the mobile phone, hence it is called * 99 # Banking.
The advantage of USSD banking can be taken from ordinary phones. Because other banking facilities like internet banking and internet are essential for Internet and smartphones, many people are unable to access these services. Indeed, the USSD Banking facility has been started keeping in mind those who do not have either a smartphone or do not use the internet. In this way, most people in the country will be able to connect to the mobile banking facility.
What is USSD ?
The full name of the USSD is the Unstructured Supplementary Service Data, also known as "Quick Codes" , is a communication protocol used by GSM mobiles to communicate with the mobile network operator's computers.
This is a mobile service. It can also be used without internet. This service is also used for mobile banking. Through the USSD Code, to know the balance of the bank account, transfer money to the bank account and take advantage of all the facilities of the bank.
You can use the USSD for banking only if your mobile number is linked to your bank account. All telecom companies have their own separate USSD code. To avail this service, neither the smartphone nor the Internet is required. All the USSD Code has the beginning * (star) and the last # sign (hash). Different USSD codes have been created for different features. * 99 # is used for banking facility. * 99 # Banking code works in all banks and money can be sent from one bank account to another bank account. For example, you can easily send money to the Bank of Baroda account with one account from State Bank of India. Apart from this, you can take advantage of many more features like balance information and mini-statement look. NPCI (National Payment Corporation of India) manages this service

Step 1:-- Dial USSD Code
Dial * 99 # with your registered mobile number from your bank.
Step 2:-- Enter Bank
Now type your bank's short name. Example, State Bank of India-- SBI , Panjab National Bank--- PNB,
Step 3:-- Select Option
On the mobile screen, You will see many options, including account balance, mini statement, send money etc., select the information you want to know.

The USSD banking service is very useful for those who are not connected to the Internet or do not have a smartphone. However, those who have smartphones and the internet can also take advantage of this feature. | But my advice is to use the UPI App, who have a smartphone. Because it has more facilities and there is no charge of the UPI.
