Satya Nadella the 'Mr Nice Guy' is executive vice president of Microsoft's cloud and Enterprise group, responsible for building and running the company's computing platforms, developer tools and cloud services.
 Mandela and his team deliver the "Cloud OS" Microsoft's next generation backend platform designed for modern application needs.
 Previously, Nandella was president of Microsoft's $ 19 billion server and tools business and led the transformation of the business and Technology from client-server software to cloud  infrastructure and services. Prior roles include senior vice president of R&D for the Online Services Division and vice president of the Microsoft Business Division.
Born in 1969 in Hyderabad to an Indian Administrative Service officer, B.N. Yugandhar , who was a member of Planning Commission during 2004-2009 under Prime Minister Manmohan Singh. He did his schooling from Hyderabad Public School in Begumpet. After schooling he completed his bachelor of Engineering in Electronics and communication degree from Manipal Institute of Technology, Manipal. After moving to the US, Nadella earned a Master of Science degree in Computer Science from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Chicago booth  school of business.
Prior to joining Microsoft in 1992, Nadella was a member of Technology Staff at Sun Microsystems.  He has been credited for bringing Microsoft's database, Windows server and developer tools to its Azure cloud. Cloud service revenue increased from $ 16.6 billion in June 2013 to $ 20.3 billion, when he took office in 2011. He became  part of business solutions  when the division was formed by combining the bCentral, Great Plains and Navision a/s groups. Before that , he served as general manager for the Commerce platforms group and led the  Development efforts for Microsoft Commerce server and Microsoft BizTalk Server. Mr. Nadella was also a key member of several advanced  technology incubation efforts inside Microsoft, including interactive television (ITV) and digital rights managment (DRM).
Stya Nadella is married and has three children. The family resides in Washington state.
